2025 Mercedes EQE SUV
2026 Cadillac Vistiq

Safety

The EQE SUV’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Vistiq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The EQE SUV has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Vistiq doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The EQE SUV has Car-to-X Communication, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Vistiq doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the EQE SUV and the Vistiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Mercedes vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. With 8 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Mercedes higher than Cadillac.

Engine

The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+’s standard electric motors produces 62 more horsepower (677 vs. 615) and 88 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 650) than the Vistiq’s electric motors.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the EQE SUV’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Vistiq:

The EQE SUV AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Vistiq doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Suspension and Handling

The EQE SUV’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Vistiq doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better maneuverability, the EQE SUV with rear wheel steering’s turning circle is 3.7 feet tighter than the Vistiq Premium Luxury/Platinum’s (34.5 feet vs. 38.2 feet). The EQE SUV’s turning circle is .6 feet tighter than the Vistiq’s (40.4 feet vs. 41 feet).

For greater off-road capability the AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Vistiq (7.6 vs. 7.2 inches), allowing the EQE SUV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The Mercedes EQE SUV may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 900 pounds less than the Cadillac Vistiq.

The EQE SUV is 1 foot, 2.1 inches shorter than the Vistiq, making the EQE SUV easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Mercedes EQE SUV amounts to more than styling. The EQE SUV has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .26 Cd. That is lower than the Vistiq (.29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the EQE SUV get better fuel mileage.

Passenger Space

The EQE SUV has .4 inches more rear headroom and .4 inches more rear legroom than the Vistiq.

Towing

Optional Trailer Stability Assist on the EQE SUV uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Vistiq doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Ergonomics

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the EQE SUV to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Vistiq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Vistiq’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The EQE SUV’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Model Availability

The EQE SUV is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Vistiq doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
