When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional Downhill Speed Regulation allows you to creep down safely. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer Downhill Speed Regulation.

The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

Both the Sprinter Cargo Van and ProMaster EV offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the Sprinter Cargo Van with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert also has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The ProMaster EV’s Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

The Sprinter Cargo Van comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire van. The ProMaster EV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Mercedes’ powertrain warranty covers the Sprinter Cargo Van 40,000 miles longer than Ram covers the ProMaster EV. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the ProMaster EV ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional 2.0 turbo diesel produces 30 lbs.-ft. more torque (332 vs. 302) than the ProMaster EV’s electric motor.

The Sprinter Cargo Van has a standard locking fuel door which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the ProMaster EV. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

For better traction, the Sprinter Cargo Van 3500/4500’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the ProMaster EV (285/65R16 vs. 225/75R16).

The Sprinter Cargo Van 3500/4500’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 65 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the ProMaster EV’s 75 series tires.

The Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Ram ProMaster EV only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Sprinter Cargo Van has a standard full size spare so a flat doesn’t interrupt your work or a trip. A full size spare costs extra on the ProMaster EV. Without the option you must depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Sprinter Cargo Van 2500 170” WB’s wheelbase is 11 inches longer than on the ProMaster EV (170 inches vs. 159 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Sprinter Cargo Van 2500 144” WB’s turning circle is 1.8 feet tighter than the ProMaster EV’s (45 feet vs. 46.8 feet).

The Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 750 pounds less than the Ram ProMaster EV.

The Sprinter Cargo Van’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The ProMaster EV’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the Sprinter Cargo Van the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the ProMaster EV can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional power passenger’s side sliding door makes it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the van. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer a power rear door.

The Sprinter Cargo Van’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The ProMaster EV’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Sprinter Cargo Van offers an optional rear wiper. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The ProMaster EV doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.

A built-in pollen filter removes pollen, exhaust fumes and other pollutants from the Sprinter Cargo Van’s passenger compartment. This helps prevent lung and/or sinus irritation that can trigger allergies or asthma. The ProMaster EV’s air conditioner doesn’t offer a filtration system.
