The EQE SUV has a standard Maneuvering Brake Function that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Both the EQE SUV and the ID.BUZZ have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The EQE SUV’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the ID.BUZZ’s (unlimited vs. 100,000 miles).

The Mercedes EQE SUV has standard four-wheel disc brakes for better stopping power and improved directional control in poor weather. Only rear drums come on the ID.BUZZ. Drums can heat up and make stops longer, especially with antilock brakes that work much harder than conventional brakes.

The EQE SUV AMG offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The EQE SUV stops much shorter than the ID.BUZZ:

For better traction, the EQE SUV has larger standard tires than the ID.BUZZ (255/45R20 vs. 235/50R20). The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the ID.BUZZ (275/35R22 vs. 235/50R20).

The EQE SUV’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the ID.BUZZ’s standard 50 series front tires. The AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the ID.BUZZ’s 50 series front and 45 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ offers optional 22-inch wheels. The ID.BUZZ’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the EQE SUV can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The EQE SUV offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The ID.BUZZ’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The EQE SUV has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The EQE SUV’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better maneuverability, the EQE SUV with rear wheel steering’s turning circle is 2.9 feet tighter than the ID.BUZZ’s (34.5 feet vs. 37.4 feet). The EQE SUV’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the ID.BUZZ 4Motion®’s (40.4 feet vs. 42.7 feet).

For greater off-road capability the AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ has a 1.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the ID.BUZZ (7.6 vs. 6.3 inches), allowing the EQE SUV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Mercedes EQE SUV may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 600 pounds less than the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ.

The EQE SUV is 3.9 inches shorter than the ID.BUZZ, making the EQE SUV easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EQE SUV is 10.5 inches shorter in height than the ID.BUZZ, making the EQE SUV much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The design of the Mercedes EQE SUV amounts to more than styling. The EQE SUV has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .26 Cd. That is lower than the ID.BUZZ (.29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the EQE SUV get better fuel mileage.

The EQE SUV has 3.1 inches more front legroom and .7 inches more rear legroom than the ID.BUZZ.

Maximum trailer towing in the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ is limited to 3500 pounds. The EQE SUV offers up to a 4000 lbs. towing capacity.

The EQE SUV’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The ID.BUZZ has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
